Earth Day events at Carnegie Science Center
With movies, presentations and environmental activities, the Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, PA) hosted its Earth Day event this past Saturday. Earth Day is held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.
Bill Perkins from The Climate Project, a nonprofit group dedicated to raising global warming awareness, gave a presentation called "It’s time to Act: The Reality of Global Warming". Also featured was The Rachel Carson Environmental Film Festival, a collection of films about the environment including comedies, thrillers, animations and family-friendly movies. (The film festival will continue on the first Saturday of each month, June through December 2007.)
