Brits, flowers & global warming

Because Britain is so cold in the winter making it hard to grow flowers, 94,000 tons of plant blooms now travel from the Netherlands to Britain and an additional 17,000 tons comes from Africa. That represents a lot of burned airplane fuel emitting carbon into the atmosphere. Environmentalists warn that these "flower miles" may contribute to global warming and climate change!
