Renewable energy alternatives can reduce global warming
A report by the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) shows how different energy methods like solar power, wind power, biofuels, geothermal power and more, when combined with energy efficiency measures, can displace as much as 1.2 billion tons of carbon emissions annually by 2030. A reduction of this size is what many scientists believe is necessary to curb the major consequences of global warming.
Results of the studies reported show that renewable energy has the potential to provide 40% of the U.S. electric energy needs projected for 2030 by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
