U.S. businesses make appeal to Congress

U.S. businesses are reading the political tea leaves. Many are seemingly taking steps and recently, a group of firms and environmental groups formed an alliance called the United States Climate Action Partnership (USCAP). They are challenging Congress to enact mandatory caps on carbon emissions. Their report entitled A Call for Action reflects "a growing public concern about global warming."

But many question the intentions of business. It's hard to know what U.S. companies are doing about climate change and some think that when major corporations say they a are seeking a solution it can only mean that the real fighting is about to begin. The new political climate on global warming
