Republican leaders not listening to scientists

The Republican party includes climate scientists (i.e., those who are registered Republicans sharing the party's conservative values), many of whom have tried to educate their party's leaders regarding the evidence for human-induced global warming. Since the rise of the Tea Party, climate change skepticism and flat-out denial has become one of the key messages of the GOP and now, no candidate for GOP nomination will admit to the scientific consensus on climate change. Here's an article that tells the stories of five conservative climate scientists who have tried to educate presidential hopefuls or their aides or members of Congress on the growing body of climate research and scientific evidence: GOP Not Listening to Its Own Scientists on Climate Change.
